'Everybody Knows' opens 2018 Cannes Film Festival

Iranian director's film 'Everybody Knows' goes on screen to inaugurate the 2018 edition of Cannes Film Festival.

Oscar-winning Iranian director Asghar Farhadi's psychological thriller played at the open of the 71st Cannes Film Festival on May 8, 2018.

The movie explores family intrigues and the moral dilemmas of a woman whose life is turned upside down when she returns from Argentina to her native village in Spain with her husband and children.

Starring Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz, Everybody Knows (Todos Lo Saben) is Farhadi's first movie in Spanish and the first Spanish-language movie to launch the festival.

Cannes Film Festival, is an annual film festival held in Cannes, France, which previews new films of all genres, including documentaries, from all around the world. Founded in 1946, the festival is held annually (usually in May) at the Palais des Festivals et des Congrès (Palace of Festivals and Conferences)in Paris.
